What we do

Water Projects

We provide equal access to WASH in rural communities and deprived urban areas in Uganda.

EAU tackles overlapping inequalities relating to WASH: gender, health, education and the environment.

We train young leaders to become local WASH ambassadors and set up WASH committees

Pit Latrines

We build a high quality Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP) latrine made sustainably from earth blocks.

This will provide essential sanitation facilities for up to 1,000 school.

This method has a significantly lower carbon impact compared to standard kiln-fired bricks

Skills and Education

Our team runs WASH workshops in schools, women’s groups and community centres.

We teach practical skills such as making liquid soap, bar soap, shampoo and reusable sanitary pads.

EAU leads Menstrual Hygiene Management sessions in schools and community groups.

About us

EAU was established in 2020 by a group of young volunteers from the UK and Uganda to deliver a shared vision of WASH equality. We have since grown to over 30 passionate volunteers in 10 countries.

Our projects are driven by grassroots needs, as identified by the Ugandan Team, who design and deliver the solutions. This is supported by the UK/Global Team, who lead on fundraising and business functions.

Our Vision

We will become a leading
organisation in Uganda in
addressing inequality in WASH,
and interrelated issues of
gender and sustainability

We want to live in a world where adequate water and sanitation facilities are available for all. In rural Uganda fetching water can take up to two hours per day for each household – a burden often carried by women and girls. This has devastating effects on health, education and livelihoods.
Peter West CMG
British High Commissioner to Uganda

Our Mission

We will achieve this by working
with partners and local communities to develop the required skills, knowledge and practical interventions
